The Akwesasne Animal Society is a nonprofit organization incorporated in August 2016 in response to the growing needs of the community and the animals in it. 

 

Akwesasne is a reservation located in the United States and Canada.  We are geographically unique in that we have tribal members divided by a border. In the US we are located in the state of New York within Franklin and St Lawrence counties and in Canada we are located in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.

We do no serve community based on location/zip code rather we serve based on membership of  the tribe/band.

Akwesasne Animal Society is a community service organization, and we firmly believe that animals, domestic and wild alike, are a legitimate part of our community. Our many programs and services are designed to address the needs of all animals — and to provide support, education, and assistance for all the people that care about them.

Most importantly, our efforts on behalf of the animals would not be possible without you. Your donations allow us to run our programs and services.  Currently our organization is 100% operated by volunteers.
